How We Support Pupils with SEND
At our school, we are dedicated to enabling children with SEND to take part in the full life of the school alongside their peers. Every child deserves the chance to learn, grow and flourish, and we work hard to make sure pupils with SEND can engage in the same wide range of opportunities as everyone else.
This includes access to all curricular activities, where lessons are planned and adapted to meet individual needs. Teachers use a variety of approaches to help pupils succeed, including clear instructions, visual support, practical resources and carefully chosen support strategies. In this way, children can take part meaningfully in learning and make strong progress from their starting points.
We also believe that learning happens beyond the classroom. Pupils with SEND are encouraged and supported to join in with co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, such as clubs, trips, events and wider school experiences. We make reasonable adjustments where needed so that barriers to participation are reduced and every child can feel included, confident and valued.
Our commitment does not stop there. We regularly evaluate SEND access across the school and review the effectiveness of the provision we make for children with SEND. This helps us to identify what is working well, where improvements are needed and how we can continue to provide the best possible support.
Above all, we want every pupil to feel that they belong, are included and have the same opportunities to succeed, participate and enjoy school life.
